Two distinct paths. One shared journey

Roots in movement and nature
II was born on June 25, 1975, in Dudelange and spent my early childhood between Luxembourg City and the countryside with my grandparents — surrounded by nature, fields, and quiet village life.
When I was seven, we moved to Contern. I spent most of my days outdoors, while music — piano, trumpet, and flute — was my first form of expression.
Our holidays were often spent in the mountains or sailing. Through my father’s passion for sailing, I learned early what freedom, wind, and wide horizons feel like — experiences that later shaped my relationship with movement and nature.
Movement became an anchor
Losing my mother at the age of 21 marked a profound turning point. During that time, I began running and going to the gym — initially instinctively, as an outlet. What started as short runs gradually became a steady anchor and a lasting passion.
From first Ironman to long-term commitment
At 36, I accompanied a friend to the Ironman in Lanzarote. Watching the athletes, I knew I wanted to do this. One year later, in 2012, I finished my first Ironman in South Africa. Since then, I have completed numerous Ironman and Ironman 70.3 races, including two Ironman World Championships and four Ironman 70.3 World Championships — each a journey of learning, resilience, and joy.
Today
Professionally, I work as a civil servant, with sport as an integral part of my daily life.
In 2025, I underwent hip replacement surgery with a ceramic-titanium implant. Recovery has required patience and trust, but it has also offered a new perspective on movement and continuity.
Today, I am on my way back — step by step — looking toward 2026 as a year of renewal and new beginnings

Roots in nature and responsibility
I was born on August 21, 1972, into a working-class family in the south of Luxembourg. Like many children of that time, I grew up spending most of my time outdoors — exploring, observing, and discovering nature. My father, a passionate angler and hunter, sparked my early fascination with wildlife and nature photography.
Service and discipline
At 17, I joined the Luxembourg Army. Before my 20th birthday, in 1992, I was deployed on my first international mission — an experience that profoundly shaped my character. More than three decades later, I continue to serve my country with the same sense of duty and discipline.
Sport, coaching and experience
Sport has always been an integral part of my life — from competitive shooting and motorsport to mountain biking. Driven by curiosity and perseverance, I later chose to share this experience with others. This led to the creation of PHPTriCoaching, which eventually evolved into Flow in Motion.
As a certified I combine technical precision with real-world experience. Athletes I have supported have achieved national and international successes, but what matters most to me is not the podium — it is the emotion and shared moment at the finish line.
A defining moment
In 2025, I suffered a stroke during a flight from Auckland to Singapore. The cause was later identified as a patent foramen ovale (PFO), which was successfully closed with an implant at the end of May.
Today
Since then, I feel stronger, more focused, and deeply grateful. I live each day with renewed clarity — guided by experience, perspective, and the simple understanding that movement, purpose, and presence are never guaranteed, but always worth protecting.
